OPSF Scholarships

To provide one-time financial assistance, for one OPS senior who attended Oak Valley Elementary.

To provide one-time financial assistance, for 3 OPS Buena Vista Seniors.

To provide one-time financial assistance, for two Omaha Public School (OPS) seniors.

This scholarship is awarded to a senior female who will attend an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree related to Tenaska business initiatives: Business, Finance, Engineering, Human Resources, Public Relations, Accounting, etc.

This scholarship is awarded to seniors who will attend an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree in the Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics fields.

This scholarship is awarded to a senior who is a minority and will attend an accredited college or university to pursue a four-year degree related to Tenaska business initiatives: Business, Finance, Engineering, Human Resources, Public Relations, Accounting, etc.

To provide one time financial assistance, for two (2) OPS Blackburn High School seniors.

To provide financial assistance to a student seeking post-secondary education in the fields of engineering or education. The Rozmus family believes in advocating for continued education and are strong supporters of Omaha South High School. Supporting the growth of future engineers and educators will foster a culture of young people who will have the skills to solve complex problems and develop a love for learning.

To provide a scholarship to a graduating Westview  High school senior JROTC Cadet planning to attend an accredited four-year school of higher learning or 2 year community college in Nebraska commencing in the summer or fall term following graduation.

One $500 scholarship awarded to a graduating senior from Omaha Benson Magnet, to be applied towards books or tuition.

Teri Kinkead was a devoted mother and had a successful career as an accountant. Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, she attended Adams Elementary School, Lewis and Clark/Monroe Junior High Schools and Central High School. Growing up, Teri always loved to sing, and her fondest high school memory was participating in the Acapella Choir. Teri’s three children are all graduates of Omaha Public Schools having attended Washington Elementary School, Lewis and Clark Middle School and Central High School. They each participated in various music programs throughout their educational journeys. To honor her memory, this scholarship has been established for any OPS student who participated in music programs during their high school education.

Susie Landow was a dedicated and beloved teacher in the Omaha Public Schools. This scholarship has been created by family and friends to honor her memory and provide financial assistance to a student seeking post-secondary education who had formerly attended Liberty or Jackson Elementary Schools.

To provide financial assistance to a student seeking post-secondary education in the fields of engineering, education or medicine. 

To provide a scholarship for a graduating Senior who has attended Spring Lake, Marrs, and South and is bi-literate in both English and Spanish

To provide one time financial assistance, for two Omaha Public Schools seniors, who attended Skinner Elementary School.

The "Simon Says: Live A Better Life Scholarship" is looking for a student that, despite the struggles of their circumstances, has strived to help others either through volunteer work or by the way they have chosen to make a difference in their community or family and at the same time continued to make school a priority.

$2000 dollar scholarship will be awarded.

A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded each year in memory of Shannon Lee Lloyd, who attended Fullerton Magnet Center from 1999 to 2001. This scholarship was awarded for the first time in 2012 when Shannon would have graduated. It is now given each year to an outstanding OPS graduating senior.

To honor the memory of Sandra Kay Spencer Knipe, who devoted her life to children, putting education at the forefront by providing a scholarship for a student who is a graduating senior from an Omaha Public High School who attended Indian Hills Elementary or South High School for at least one year and is pursuing the field of education.

To provide one time financial assistance, for two Omaha Public Schools seniors, who attended Saddlebrook Elementary School.

The purpose of this memorial is to provide a scholarship for an OPS graduating senior from Central High School who has participated in the Central Legion Baseball Program. This scholarship is in memory of Mick Messbarger who was a dedicated coach for the Memorial Park Baseball Little League and someone who loved baseball stats, trivia and most of all the game of baseball. (Particularly the Texas Rangers!)

In memory of Kristi LaRee who was born in Omaha, Nebraska and died as a victim of domestic violence when she was 9 years old. Though she struggled through adversity in her short life, she was determined and resilient. She was light. She loved to dance, and laugh, and read. Kristi did not have the opportunity to attend college, but she would want to help others.

To provide one time financial assistance, for one Omaha Public Schools senior, who attended King Science Technology Magnet .

Purpose: Memorial Scholarship honoring Kevin Vann who grew up under difficult circumstances in Baltimore, Maryland and taught in the Omaha Public Schools.

This scholarship is awarded annually to remember John Paul Gustafson, an Omaha North High and Academy of Finance graduate. This scholarship will be awarded based upon the essays, GPA and academic achievements, contributions to the school and community, order and neatness of the application, and extracurricular activities.
