"Working with our GATE students is an enormous joy for me. I get to push and challenge these high ability learners while they push and challenge me to become a better teacher. One way we get to explore together is through VR technology. While we can't physically travel back to Pre-Historic Nebraska to see the sharks that once roamed the land, we can virtually swim with them. My fifth grades can walk on the surface of the moon and see the craters and mountains that are there and see the similarities to our Earth landscapes. My third graders will get to explore the rainforest and see the food webs in action. With our VR headsets, we have totally opened up the world to these students without ever leaving the classroom!
