Kevin Vann Scholarship

Kevin Vann grew up under difficult circumstances in Baltimore, Maryland.

He became the first member of his family to attend college by earning a basketball scholarship to Towson State University.  He then joined the Army and moved through the ranks at an unprecedented rate earning countless honors, commemorations and medals along the way.

As a retired First Sargent in the US Army, he started his teaching career at Omaha Northwest in 1998. He was the JROTC instructor, head boys and girls tennis coach and assistant varsity boys coach. After a couple of years at Northwest, he took over the girls basketball program. In 2016 he joined the staff at Bryan High School as a JROTC instructor, assistant girls and boys tennis coach and assistant basketball coach.  He loved working with students and helping them realize their potential regardless of their circumstances.  He passed away after a tough battle with stomach cancer, but fought to support and be there for his student-athletes until the end.
