Richard Pesek Building a Future Scholarship -Senior Status at Independent Studies

Purpose:

To invest in and support students as they seek to build their future post-graduation from an alternative pathways program.

 Vision:

This scholarship was created in memory of Richard Pesek. While he worked as an apprentice bricklayer, he received additional trade training to become a journeyman by the age of 21. With this foundation and a strong work ethic, he was promoted to Masonry Foreman and then to Superintendent of Masonry at Hawkins Construction. Rich shared the value of post-graduation training/education and how it would lead to a better future not only with his children, but also with many apprentices over the course of his 38- year career. The Building a Future Scholarship was founded in 2021 in memory of Richard Pesek to add a brick as young people build their foundations for the future.
